I can’t believe Jim leaves for Namotu tomorrow. He is going on a much deserved surf trip to an amazing private island. I am so excited for him but I am so envious! I couldn’t leave the kids though. I just wouldn’t be able to go away like that so I am glad he can. He has been working his butt off so he totally deserves a relaxing, surf saturated experience in paradise.

Merrik is literally obsessed with touching Maliea. He “needs” to touch her constantly. It is driving all of us crazy-except Maliea. Not yet at least. I have tried to emphasize that he not touch her hands-especially during eating and sleeping. But this is the most beautiful image of the two of them and I can understand why he wants to touch her all the time. She is so yummy!

gap: panorama of my town

October 1st, 2008

Here’s a panorama I took from our backyard the other day because the sky was so gorgeous. I stitched it together in Photoshop using the photomerge automate command. Pretty cool!

some of them fix your kernal panicking G4 in 45 min flat. I have been dealing with kernel panics on my computer for over a year now. I have just put up with it on a daily basis (for all non mac users, a kernel panic is when the system software crashes and the screen goes black with a message saying you need to restart).
Yesterday I came home from a ‘picmic’ at the harbor with the kids, Aunt Karen and Nana and my computer had kernel panicked and the screen saver had lines through it. So I finally called the Apple Store in The Shops at Mission Viejo to see if they actually do service on old macs. They made me an appointment so I headed straight for the Genius Bar.
After 45 minutes with Josh, I found out that the clock battery had died and was causing the kernel panics. I also got a complete overhaul of my system, all current software upgrades and found out that I can upgrade my processor for a mere $400 to a G5.
I was prepared for the possibility of buying a new $3000 computer (they all laughed at my 2002 G4 Quicksilver and called it a dinosaur) but I got out of there for FREE! FREE! FREE! Apple gets it. Unbelievable. Now THAT made my day. I didn’t get a great laugh out of it like I did with the Sarah Silverman clip but I needed that.
